Aircraft Configuration Management

Aircraft configurations management includes independent listing of critical components in each aircraft in the fleet:

  • Avionics installation type and software version
  • Propulsion system and software version
  • Flight Critical Components part number/serial number/associated software version & date installed
  • Major modifications (COTS or Military) to airframe, navigation, and powerplant systems

Engineering Development and Approval of Major Repairs and Alterations

Repairs and major alterations outside the OEM Structural Repair Manual that require engineering approval via FAA / Military Certification Office (MCO) or Military Engineering Directorate.

Engineering repairs are developed using DER Frankie,LLC  proprietary Engineering Work Order (EWO) system to capture step by step the repair instruction to be made on the victim aircraft or component.  All EWO's are FAA approved via FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) of respective delegation.

Development of Supplemental Type Certificates

Development of FAA Supplemental Type Certificate can be a very complex process if the applicant does not count with a seasoned team of certification engineers to navigate through the FAA certification process.  STC's at a minimum require the following elements: Project Specific Certification Plan (PSCP), Certification Basis, Compliance Check-List, Project Schedule, & Conformity Inspection Plan (CIP)

Restricted Category Type Certificates is our area of expertise with obtaining the 1st CH-47D RC TC in June, 2014 and 1st UH-60A in April, 2015

Engineering Support for Service Life Extension Programs

SLEP Programs are coordinated with the aircraft OEM and the Military Engineering Directorate prior to executing the inspection program and part replacement.

DER Frankie, LLC will develop step by step processes for inspection of aircraft (CONUS or OCONUS) and the planning for component replacement per SLEP program requirements.

FAA Certification of Avionic or Structural Modifications Via FAA STC Process

Aircraft avionic upgrades continue to become a necessity in today's technological advances in wireless communications.  STC or Major Alterations need to include detailed description of the changes to the cockpit and fuselage for proper FAA approval.  Software verification and certification are also another element that directly impact project schedule.

Knowledge of FAA regulatory requirements and new certification processes is key to success in this type of activity
